Kitsune is basically correct in that is an IC, but Bruce is actually closest.
It's from another type of projector, a DLP as opposed to the LCD I took apart last time. That is a Digital Micromirror Device. From Wikipedia... "In DLP projectors, the image is created by microscopically small mirrors laid out in a matrix on a semiconductor chip, known as a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD). Each mirror represents one or more pixels in the projected image." That little sucker has close to a million ittybitty mirrors that are physically moved electrostatically in an on/off fashion to represent each pixel of an image.
