Oh I have a very active imagination smoothmoniker. I just don't get the whole "wanting to live forever" thing. Death is a part of a life. It is the natural cycle. Everything dies, and for human beings to try to change that, I think it makes us LESS human and more artificial. IMO it is all about ego, and fear.

Where would we put all the people if no one died, and people keep procreating? One or the other has to give.

I doubt anyone would ever really think about it as living forever. We would just think about it as living one more day, or week, or just another year to wrap up some loose ends.

Think of the alternative - picking an arbitrary date and deciding to die on it? For no reason other than "that's what people do"?
