AL EAST

this is actually a very good bet based on reality.
it may seem weird betting on two contenders in a 5 horse race.
it is a sure bet as you can discount the orioles and blue jays as they are in a race of there own for last place.
the red sox are truly inferior to both of these teams.
5 units bet on the NYY at 2.10, and 2 units on the Rays at 5.00,
overall, the payout is 10-10.5 on 7 wagered
if you wish to pick 1 of the two bets, fine, but this is free money if you wager as i suggest.

Bet On the NY Yankees
Bet On the Tampa Bay Rays

AL CENTRAL

this division is pretty much up in the air.
detroit is a major contender at 4.00.

Bet On the Detroit Tigers

AL WEST

this is not about me being a fan of this team.
they still are superior to the rest of the teams here. 1.44

Bet On the LA Angels

NL EAST

pretty good price on the mets at 2.25.
lets make it back for last season.

Bet On the NY Mets

NLCENTRAL

the cubs pay 1.57, but the low price is justified as this team is way too good.
the reds could be the main contender for 2nd place therefore a very smal cover is affordable at 11.00.

Bet On the Chicago Cubs
Bet On the Cincinnati Red
s

NL WEST

this is a very good bet as the dodgers pay 2.37.
i see the rockies as their main opponent this year, and they pay 8.50

Bet On the LA Dodgers

march madness

we've made it to the sweet 16, and our wagers have made it through the first 2 rounds.
this is how the brackets are.
our wagered teams are listed in blue.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
midwest

Loisville vs Arizona
Michigan State vs Kansas

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
in the final four, the midwest winner would face the winner of the west....
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
west

Connecticut vs Purdue
Memphis vs Missouri

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

it looks pretty good for michigan state as they prepare to take out last years champions kansas.
should they face louisville for a ticket to the final four, they'll be a great debate regarding which team has the greater defence.
the teams play a different kind of defence.
lousiville's high pressure defence won't get them too far imo.
both uconn's match with purdue amd memphis's match with missouri are close calls as purdue is playing at a higher level than most expected, and both memphis and missouri are overated.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
east

Pittsburgh
vs Xavier
Duke vs Villanova

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
in the final four, the winner of the east would face the winner of the south
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
south

North Carolina vs Gonzaga
Oklahoma vs Syracuse

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
all our picks seem to be on this half of the draw.
i don't mind, i just hope its a long shot.
one would think that a north carolina vs duke scenario is at hand.
i just don't think duke is good enough again this year.
pittsburgh should have an easy time against a depleted xavier team.
villanova from what i've seen, can take out duke.
gonzaga looks like north carolina's biggest challenge yet as they play at a very high level.
i think oklahoma is overated and their match-up with syracuse is pretty much up in the air.

i can't believe what i read sometimes from toronto sports writers.
in the sun this morning, this guy is giving a betting tip for the nhl game detroit red wings vs ny islanders.
he says that although detroit is resting, they should be able to beat the ny islanders.
is this guy stupid or what.
if a team is resting, they're not gonna win.

yes, you idiot, i agree that they're resting, and because they are, the betting tip would be to bet on the highest price on a hockey game all year ny islanders.
you see, the nhl , at this time is a gold mind for the greatest teams resting, protecting themselves, getting ready for the play-offs.
they're playing in the 3rd period and its 2-0 islanders.

big game starting now... michigan state[-1.5] - kansas

i can't imagine march madness being any better than it is, heading into the final, four.

35/1 villanova face 7/2 north carolina
26/1 michigan state face uconn

michigan state proved to have the greater defence when it counted taking out louisville pretty easily.
the champions of last year kansas was their previous victum.

villanova was clearly the superior team against pittsburgh despite some disadvantages under the basket.
duke proved to be a lot easier of an opponent.

north carolina was never gonna be taken out by the inferior sooners, although their next game won't be so easy.

uconn is pretty lucky to be here as they managed to get here without really facing a worthy opponent

we're gonna be cashing in on march madness as michigan state just beat uconn 82-73 to make it to the final.
given the fact that we've wagered on both teams in the other semi, we'll have both finalists for a second year in a row.
for myself, i look to gain quite the fortune should michigan state win it all, as i've put a substantial amount on the 26/1 shot.
Quote:
michigan state looks like the greatest value there at 26/1 as they can beat any team when it counts.
i hope a lot of people bet on this.

~*~*~*~MLB~*~*~*~

Tampa Bay Rays @ Boston Red Sox
Kazmir - Lester

Even though they're playing in Boston, the Rays hold an advantage in this game.
Kazmir for one, who is known for his ability to be at the top of his form, very early in the season.
Even with BJ Upton out of the line up till next week...
Crawford and Longoria are of the absolute elite, while Pena is as powerfull as they get!
The Rays bullpen remains strong like last year.

Taking a look at the Red Sox line up now, and honestly, if you really know baseball, its not that impressive.
The one and only thing that looks freakishly good is their bullpen.
Papelbon is purely the elite.
Saito is way too good to be 7th-8th inning guy, however, here he is.
Okajima can take care of his buisness very well.

For this particular game, you've got the Rays true #1, Kazmir, against Lester, who can be hit against.
Percival takes care of buisness in the ninth and lets cash in.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

New York Mets @ Cincinnati Reds

Pelfrey - Volquez

Its not easy to bet against the Mets.
I'm afraid that the Reds might punish Pelfrey.
I'm not quite sure if everyone has a good grasp on who Volquez is.
Watch how many strike-outs he gets against the Mets today!

Bet on the Cincinnati Reds

Kazmir pitched a gem for the rays as they beat boston 7-2, while the mets got the better of the reds 9-7.

St.louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates
Chris Carpenter - Ross Ohlendorf

I strongly doubt that Ohlendorf will be able to take the spotlight away from Carpenter's return.
I don't know how many of you understand how good of a pitcher Chris is.

Bet on the St.louis Cardinals

LA Angels vs Oakland A's

Jered Weaver vs Brett Anderson

K-Rod is missed, but lets not forget that Shields is more than capable of taking over the closing role while the 8th will be more than covered.
Jered is the Angels #2 after the incredible Joe Saunders.
Good luck to Brett in his debut.

Bet on the LA Angels

Both games lost by a run...grrr.

Chicago Cubs @ Milwakee Brewers
Dempster - Suppan

The Cubs are by far, superior to the Brewers.
Dempster is elite.

Bet on the Chicago Cubs

that was a nice win for dempster and the cubs to make up for yesturday.

Colorado Rockies vs Chicago Cubs

Ubaldo Jimenez - Ted Lilly

Jimenez will look to maintain his 0.00 ERA against a very good team.
He should at least get the win against Lilly who is mediocre.

Bet on the Colorado Rockies

Tampa Bay Rays vs NY Yankees
Scott Kazmir - Chien Min Wang

The clash of the titans here as this battle looks to be the one to watch this season!
I'm not underestimating Wang, as I believe that he is a very good pitcher, its just that Kazmir is about as good as they get.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

here we have a division with 3 of the absolute greatest teams in baseball, and two of the absolute worst ones.

tampa bay has not only caught up to the yankees and bosox, but it seems like they have surpassed them.
these young players will only get better each year that passes.
the rays set the perfect example of a great team, finishing in last place in order to get even better the next year.
we can now look at the bottom of the table and distinguish the difference between a team finishing in last place cause they suck, and a team finishing in last place because they're elite, and want to get even better.

the yankees have responded to that reality by upgrading their pitching staff so that it is now elite.
their bats are top of the line.
the only weak link in the yankees appear to be their bullpen.

now matter how much i'd like to bash the red-sox, i can't really do that as they are not too far behind these two giants.
boston pitching staff is not bad all the way through.
their bullpen is very impressive.
its their line-up that places them behind these other two great teams, and 3rd place in the division seems unavoidable.

the orioles and blue jays are in a whole different category.
what can they do really but rebuild and hope that they can compete sometime in the next decade.

AL EAST

this is actually a very good bet based on reality.

this division has gotten weaker.
i bet you, if you take last years standings and turn it upside down, you'll pretty much have the final standings of this season.

wtf are they doing in chicago?
who will be their number 4 and 5 pitchers?
their line-up is as weak as its been for a long time.
the only thing improved here is their bullpen.
the white sox are not going anywhere this year.

i can respect the twins in some of their most recent choices.
they know how to run a pitching staff.. its not that bad.
their amazing in recent years bullpen has fallen apart.
their line-up, despite having a few absolute elite players, is under par.
this division is weak, so i won't be suprised if any team takes it.
its just that the twins seem to be a 500 team.

the indians can be com-petitive this year.
their pitching staff is clearly the elite in this division.
their bullpen remains as questionable as it always has been.
the line-up is full of questions and does have some holes in it, so i can't put my faith in this team as of now.

the royals are finally a competitive team.
due to the rest of the teams in this division generally looking weaker, the royals actually have a shot at winning this division.

the detroit tigers despite finishing in last place last season should be considered the favorites here.
line-up, pitching staff and bullpen, overall are superior to the rest of the teams here.

AL CENTRAL

this division is pretty much up in the air.
detroit is a major contender at 4.00.

Bet On the Detroit Tigers
current standings

1]detroit tigers -
2]minnesota twins -4
3]chicago white sox -5
4]kansas city royals -9
5]clevland indians -12

west

the gap between the angels and the rest of the teams in this division has closed a little bit.
seattle's amazing pitching staff can almost compare to the angels.
oaklands line-up has improved considerably since last season.
texas still has some holes to fill, and even if they fill them up, their pitching staff is very weak.
overall, its the angels division to lose.

AL WEST

this is not about me being a fan of this team.
they still are superior to the rest of the teams here. 1.44

Bet On the LA Angels
current standings

1]la angels -
2]texas rangers -1.5
3]seattle mariners -3
4]oakland a's -10.5

we can fight about this all you want, but the fact is, the mets are the best team here.
thier pitching staff and bullpen are in a standard of their own, while their line-up cannot be matched.
the phillies, despite having the greatest infield in baseball, have a weak bullpen.
florida remains a pretty good team with an above average bullpen.
the line-up does not impress leaving the marlins behind the two greater teams in this division.

this is a bounce back year for atlanta.
i like their pitching staff, and they've got the 8th and 9th inning pretty much covered.
its their line-up that is impressing me, they've made some key moves, they will score this year.

washington isn't all that bad, they've improved, and i believe they'll cause a few upsets this year.

NL EAST

pretty good price on the mets at 2.25.
lets make it back for last season.

Bet On the NY Mets
current standings

1]philadelphia phillies -
2]ny mets -2.5
3]florida marlins -3
4]atlanta braves -5
5]washington nationals -17

Quote:

this division is going to be the main attraction this season as there are a few teams that have improved dramatically.

the chicago cubs appear to be world series bound as their team is too good.
the pitching staff could not be better than it is.
their bullpen is missing nothing, and their bats include soto, lee, soriano and ramirez.

the milwakee brewers are seriously on the downfall as they have become weaker, where the teams below them have surpassed them.
don't be betting on this team.

i like houston, i don't know when they'll be competitive again, it does not look good again this year.

chris carpenter is back to an overall mediocre cardinals team, who may just manage to compete a bit here.

the cincinatti reds are probably gonna be the most improved team in baseball.
volquez is of the absolute elite pitchers in the game.
arroyo and harang can both win.
cueto and bailey are up and coming.
they hold one of the absolute elite closers in the game f.cordero.
their bullpen can certainly pick them up with weathers picking up the 8th inning.
some would say that their bats aren't that good, but i can argue that by comparing it to the rest of teams in this division [minus the cubs]

there's nothing i can say about the pirates that can alter the opinion already bombarded by the media.
they're not that far off.

NLCENTRAL

the cubs pay 1.57, but the low price is justified as this team is way too good.
the reds could be the main contender for 2nd place therefore a very smal cover is affordable at 11.00.

you can fight with me about this all you want, but the dodgers are gonna win this division.
arizona's line-up is not good enough.
those of you who will argue about the giants are crazy.
lincecum is great, but there's not much else there.
the padres amazing bullpen is not all that amazing anymore.

NL WEST

this is a very good bet as the dodgers pay 2.37.
i see the rockies as their main opponent this year, and they pay 8.50

Bet On the LA Dodgers
current standings

halladay grants the jays their 4th loss in the last 6 games halladay has started in... he's not really helping much, is he, lol.

lincecum pitched a complete game shut-out, allowing the cardinals only 2 hits in the entire game.

it took the dodgers 13 innings to pick up the win against the rockies.

we've still got carpenter win againts the giants for tonight, this is for tommorow wednesday........

toronto blue jays vs tampa bay rays
romero - shields

there is no comparing these two teams, they are leagues apart.
romero is about the only starter worth mentioning from the rest of the blue jays rotation.
if i ran the rays, i'd start resting up some players when playing such a weak opponent as the jays.
even if they do, they're still, by far, the superior team.

bet on the tampa bay rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

texas rangers vs la angels
millwood - weaver

as long as jered weaver keeps pitching like he is, my money will be on him no matter who he's up against.

bet on the la angels

wimbeldon - womens semi-finals

dinara safina vs venus williams
elena dementieva vs serena williams

every single media person involved in this wimbeldon is giving a williams sister final as a sure thing.
the truth about the williams sisters is that they're not really that good.
they're both borderline top 10 players.
the only thing that gives them the edge is their physical strength, which at this grand slam, has value, due to the surface that they play on.
the poor english, who really see a false reality every year.

i've been watching womens tennis with a passion since i was 4.
having watched this wimbeldon closely, i can tell you that dementieva should beat serena.
the other semi is kind of up in the air.... i like safina's game, but venus is playing at a very high level.. it will be interesting to watch.

this is a betting thread, and both these matches pay a fortune going against the sisters.

bet on dementieva
bet on safina

that dementieva match was one of the 20 best tennis matches i've ever watched.

texas rangers vs tampa bay rays
hunter - kazmir

kazmir has struggled through injury this season, but he's back it looks like.
he is one of the absolute elite pitchers in the game.
at the end of this season, you can take another look at his stats and you'll see what i mean.
of course it helps that he plays for probably the best baseball team in the majors.

bet on the tampa bay rays

venus is playing at a whole different level.
i must be honest, i'm not really gonna watch.
although, its almost pre-determined, i will watch the greatest tennis player of all time win another grand-slam.
i was a fan of pete sampras, so it kinda hurts watching someone surpass him.
federer is one to watch in awe
