This study was actually misreported by the press.

Escort sites are more popular with people who voted for Kerry (misnamed as Gore in the report) and wifeswapping and voyeur sites are more popular with Bush voters, however. Oh, Foucault and Kafka would have a field day with that, and it would just confirm their continual rightness about...well, pretty much everything.

Anyway, I though red states were called so due to their affinity for a particular form of American Leninism.
