LOL Pie! If I was differently-oriented I could overlook the not having kids part...

Glatt, I live in the city but we're allowed to have up to three (count 'em!) hens in the city. I don't have mine yet, I'm getting them really soon though!

We're allowed to have hens (I think up to a dozen) but no roosters in residential areas here.

I'd have them for the eggs, cept my dog likes killing and sometimes eating chooks, so it's not worth it.

and yes, I've done everything including beating the dog with the dead chook which was the last straw for me.

Maybe when she's gone I'll try again.

We have one dog who has a strong hunting instinct, so the chicken run will have to be fenced off.

Tiki, do emus count? Had six before we moved to O'ahu. Funny stories, there... Oh, and I do have a kid of my own and fit all your other criteria... except male :P In all seriousness, though, good luck. I really hope you find someone who loves the heck out of you!

There is no video you bloody sadist! lol

I was wild at the time. There wasn't much left of the chook. A lot of feathers floating around though.

Well I reckon that would teach Ali's dog a short sharp lesson in respect. Emus kick and can kill by doing so.

Tiki, trust me, hon, you do NOT want emus. By funny stories, I mean, "yes, they're funny now, but when they happened omg I wanted to kill all six birds, my husband, and myself!" They're annoying, stupid, stubborn, panicky birds, and the meat ain't worth the time, money, and stress of owning them!
