If I can add properly, this is the weekend you're getting hitched.

Congrats again, and make sure to let us know how it all works out for you....

Well, we're back in town. Note to anyone considering a Carribbean cruise: don't book your cruise in August or September, go for June, early July, or October. LOTS of experienced people offered this advice to Britt and I, unfortunately all of this advice arrived after we returned.

The reason August is a poor time of year for a Carribbean cruise is because of the likelihood of rain. If our trip was any indication of normal conditions for this time of year, I can conclude two things: 1), it is rainy, windy, gray, and cold for six out of every seven days, and 2) storm systems have a tendency to follow large sea vessels. We saw one day of nice weather, and it was spent on a beach in Haiti. The rest of the days were cold and wet, on a very unsettled sea.

We managed to have fun despite the weather, but it could have been a lot better. We got to swim with sting rays in the Grand Caymans one day, with dolphins in Jamaica another, climb a waterfall, and nifty stuff like that. And we got to drink large quantities of alcohol, which was nice. Britt got seasick on a ferry in the roiugh water, so she was a bit queasy for half of the week. And then we had to scrap a trip to some Mayan ruins because a medical emergency on the boat made us return to the last port, and we lost 3.5 hours. Blah.

As for the wedding... Britt's mom, who had already invited several unwanted people to our wedding and caused some problems, invited even more the day before our wedding... so that was a point of contention. But, we're married. The ceremony went well, Brittany looked amazing. We have the reception this Saturday, and then maybe life will settle down just a little bit.

I'm happy.

Only my grandmothers are still alive... one came, but the other wasn't feeling well enough. But at least I found a way to extend the invitation, even if she was unable to accept, without pissing off my parents too much.

Shut up, Stu Pidass.

El sicómoro has had it good before and has it good now...why on earth would I want to fuck it up by getting married?
