We never had mascots, I have a recollection that our primary school was in some way connected to a ship. We had some kind of connection with HMS Dido. So Dido, was kind of like a mascot/symbolic embodiment of the school.
I think that was fairly common until recent decades. We never quite lost our naval identity over here. Even up in the hinterlands of the industrial North West. |
