Can any of you beer lovers suggest a good beginner's beer for a girl who finds most of the beers she's tried so far to taste like piss? I've tried Coors, Bud, and Miller, and hate all of them. Disgusting. So where should I start with GOOD beers?

I never was much of a beer fan until I tried Dos Equis, the dark not the light. I'm certainly not a connoisseur and I don't think those who are would rank this beer at all, but I like it because it has a full flavor without being too sharp or bitter.

![]() the flavours become more full as the beer warms. Because it takes me about an hour to drink a beer, I will chill it fairly cold, then as I drink it the flavours slowly reveal themselves, as the beer warms. If you can get it, try Cole Porter. That is my favorite beer right now. It has a roasted chocolate-coffee flavour and it's pretty bitter. It's yummy. Or try Chimay blue label. That's a really good Belgian ale. |

Ahh, thank you, Sugarpop! I like sweeter tastes, and fruity... hence why it's been easier for me to really get into wines (I ADORE Muscadine!!), so long as the alcohol taste isn't too strong. I think I'll give some of the IPAs a try, since Ted usually has those lying about somewhere.

I can't find my fave beer in stores anymore--Pyramid Apricot Ale. Other fruit beers are yuk, but this was yum.
I'm sad.

Nooo!!!1 If you don't like "beer" then IPAs are the worst next step you could take.
Try a Unibroue, like La Fin Du Monde (high octane but champagne-esque) or Ephmere (green apple flavored).

I generally don't like most IPA's and steer away from them. They tend to have a significant aftertaste. I love the stouts but note that a Guinness is quite different from a Beamish and a Murphy's. Belhaven makes a good one as well.
I like the creaminess of a Boddington's, which is a pub draught ale. Treasunk, I would recommend you try a Harp or Bass. I am a huge fan of Ales. I usually buy Newcastle which is a brown ale.

If you don't like beer, just drink wine instead. Ever try apple cider? That's good too.

As a non bear drinker I find that Celis makes some beers that are about as unoffensive as they come.
