Globalization is a very real change in the world. Just the fact that you know there are billions of starving people out there belies that fact that globalization exists.

Like with any other complex system of interaction (say, capitalism or socialism) there are lots and lots of gray areas. So what I think what you may be looking for is some more precise nomenclature as to the nature of globalization. Obviously some aspects (i.e., the ability to see bad shit going on in the world and potentially do something about it) are good, and some (i.e., ignoring bad shit, causing bad shit) are not good. Being able to know which is which without having a discussion like this would be useful.
