PETA does it again ...

As a person of german heritage I am mortally offended by PETA's actions (I am often offended by PETA, but this is too good to pass up)...

HOW DARE THEY OFFER GERMANS LESS MONEY THAN AMERICANS FOR THE SAME STUPID-ASS REQUEST!!!!

PETA Offers Money to Hamburg Germany to Change Name of Town

Yeah, and Hamburg, Germany has over a million people. Perhaps PETA's head folks also do double-duty for High Times.

I think that they probably just subscribe.

Cannabis Sativa is a plant and therefore worthy of their attention, worship, and use, after all.

Still, you'd think they'd put a lid on stupid shtuff like this just because it confirms that PETA is a joke. I mean this is the best they could come up with? Going after city names? Yeah. They're a joke. Exactly how is a cities name change going to suddenly make people treat animals more 'ethicaly'?
By the by Wolf, according to the article they weren't offering cash. They were offering the equivilent in veggiebugers. Doesn't that make the request seem more reasonable?

Actually, that makes the request less reasonable to me. Cities need dinero right now, not some fucking veggieburgers.

(Don't get me wrong...I love veggieburgers, but seriously...)

Yeah, changing a city name in return for a shitload of veggieburgers is nuts. Oh, and to hell with veggieburgers. If you can't have a proper burger with beef in there, then chicken, or perhaps pork will work as a substitute. I'll have the veggies in a salad on the side, not on a bun.
As far as the mental image goes, I bet that'll come back to haunt you next time the kid's want to watch a "Veggietales" movie. God... I hate that show...

And use it to make their non-critter based clothing

Next time you see a PETA rally on tv (on in case one breaks out in front of you ...)

Count leather jackets and shoes.

It's kinda funny.

But I suppose THEY wouldn't take it very well if someone went up to them and threw red paint on them screaming leather is murder ...

One of the funniest stories I ever heard was from a Little Rock cop talking about a group of Motorcycle cops opening the proverbial can of whoop ass on some animal rights people. It seems the cops got pretty pissed when the animal rights people began throwing rocks, bricks and other debris at the police horses. Take a minute to let the irony sink in. Now, how much do you wish you could have seen (or participated in) that ass whipping?

I got a letter from PETA yesterday that had a nickel in it. I filled out the questionnaire (mult choice) with all the answers the didn't want and filled the post paid return envelope with all the crap they sent me including the return address stickers. I also added a note thanking them for the nickel. Now that load will probably cost them 60 or 70 cents. Will they take the hint and take me off their mailing list? Haven't yet.

I know people that put little scraps of sheet metal and sand in those return envelopes. I just send all the paper back like you did, though I shred any evidence of me or my name -- I don't want them thinking I took the time to read it. It sure does offset the cost of stamps somewhere I'm sure.

More PETA nonsense.

This is actually about an individual member, not the organization as a whole, but it's pretty indicative of how they want to see the world run.

It's not working out in this little microcosm ...

(if they are like this over ANTS I wonder what the cockroach population is like in that mall ... )
