7/23/2003: Earth-bound rainbow
This was the Earth Sci pic of the day a few days ago, and it boggled my mind. There's a lengthy explanation of the effect at the link above, involving mountain mist and angles of the sun, but I'm not sure I understand it. Just be aware: rainbows can happen near the ground too. |
