I had trouble with those two too.
I taught myself - SepARate. We ARE separated (picture a couple standing apart)
And deFINITE. I will stay convinced unto infinity (picture a stubborn man, arms crossed, sure he is right)

Silly, but it worked for me.
Calendar was another one.
But I remember that just by saying it Cal-n-DAR in my head.

Well, at least you solved the mystery of why G-Dub continues to say "nuke-you-ler" when you just know he's been told by countless advisors that he is mispronouncing the word. :p
