Maybe he'll learn his lesson. Maybe there's a reason luck or the gods or someone intervened and saved his life.
Maybe he was going so fast for a reason. Maybe he wasn't just an idiot driver. Maybe he had an accident because an animal or small child was in his path. Yeah, speeding is stupid, but it's pretty tough to judge someone when you don't have all the facts.
