My neighbour made me happy a few moments ago.
I was putting out my garbage and took the lift to the ground floor. As I got out my neighbour got in to the lift (to go up) and we exchanged polite greetings. I presume he saw that I was carrying a bag of garbage, and thus deduced that I would be walking to the garbage area by the road and straight back. Which was what I did, and just as I arrived at the elevator area the elevator arrived back at the ground floor - with no one in it. My neighbour must have taken the elevator up to his floor, and then as he got out, pressed the "1" button to send it back down for me, which on a cold night was extra appreciated. He's probably not reading this, but thanks, dude. How super-thoughtful and considerate.

Had a letter in the post this morning, I have a tax rebate and I knew I was paying a lot in taxes this year, but went on meekly paying, as you do. Great joy at the amount until saw the crediting account: my mortgage. Can't access it but nevertheless next year I have a cushion, yeh. Merry Christmas y'all.
