Not a regular breakfast, but common if you were going over to Europe as the best time to catch the ferry was early in the morning, and the bar was always open. Also as a teenager, polishing off any cans left from the night before.

Soft drinks for breakfast are a Whore's Breakfast. Not quite sure why, but refers to their hangover reducing properties I think.
