My parents are house sitting at the moment (another 2 weeks being paid to live in a millionaire's house, how tiring) but close enough to home to pop back for my nephew's birthday. Talked to Mum tonight and she said they went back to their house and it felt so grey and drab and sad. I was just about to console her about the fact she isn't a millionaire when she added it was because she could see Christmas decorations in all the neighbours' houses and theirs was bare.
I felt a warm glow looking at our little leaning tree with lights that don't work. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, there's always someone worse off than me, how comforting...
