For those curious...this forum is just about the complete opposite of the cellar in every possible way.

(Careful, you may lose some IQ points by checking out that link

)

To give you a general idea, I've had an account there a little longer than I have here, and I've made maybe 10 posts over there, because there's such a high likelihood of being flamed when you post (whether you're new or not, though being new makes it about 10x worse.)

They don't allow thread drift, "circlejerking" (posting just to say "right on!" or "I agree"),or one-word / single-smiely posts ("lol"/ "

").

I've been to a ton a forums like that. SomethingAwful was one of them that I got tied up in. They had a sub-forum there called FYAD (standing for 'fuck you and die') where it was basically a bunch of folks posting non-sequitors and maintaining a strange class structure where if you didn't 'get' all the weird random shit flying around you were ostracized. Man, that intrigued the hell out of me. I spent two years on and off integrating myself into it and becoming an accepted member but I kinda stopping going when it stopped being a game and I wasn't getting anything out of it.

Here at least I can get some intelligent conversation. I might get into a flame war too if one crops up. I think I'm getting a bit rusty

Actually the biggest reason for *that* sort of post nazi-ing on that board is because the users are the total opposite of the cellar as well. It attracts a TON of illiterate 11-13 year olds who use l337 sp34k and are generally impossible to understand, so maybe picking on them wasn't very nice....but I *DID* say it was the anti-cellar there.

However, you can get a temp ban there for not capitalizing your sentences, not using periods, using too many elipsis (...) or AOLisms (lol, lmao, wtf, omg, etc.).

*peeks out at the rest of the internet...*

Ahhh, I can see about the leetspeak or whatever it's called, but I certainly wouldn't expect any mods here to start calling people out for not capitalizing, etc. That's for assholes like ME to point out.
