Rk, you must have remarkable skills to have overcome it so well that this is the first time it has shown up on the board in all of those posts. congratulations.
Actually, I'm pretty sure rk's mentioned his dyslexia before. Long time ago though, so i am not going to trawl through and locate it.

You're right that it's hard to hide dyslexia, but in fairness since it affects different people differently, it's entirely possible (in my view) that someone could not show up as dyslexic on a board like this. There have been times when rk has made spelling mistakes which absolutely could be due to dyslexia, and often they're repeated mistakes. I can't think of examples but I am pretty sure I spotted some after he first mentioned dyslexia about 8 months ago. I stopped looking after that, so couldn't tell you if they've re-occurred since.

I've known dyslexics who have developed very good coping strategies, such as spell-checking everything before they input it. Not all dyslexics, in my experience, have the same difficulties with sentence structure and sequencing, so I don't see how it would be possible to say with any degree of surety that someone with access to a spell-checker would automatically still show up as dyslexic.

It's not just spelling, it's a few things, I have learned to check for them, but I often go back and edit them after I miss them.
But, it does not matter, either you will act like you don't believe me or use it to try to hurt me, either way.

Ok, I'm sorry rkz, I guess I let my annoyance at your assertations regarding dyslexia cloud my judgment. I did not see the previous mention of it before, so it seemed to come out of the blue, and "the boy who cried wolf syndrome" kicked in. I accept that I was wrong and so my mentioning it in this thread was inappropriate and I apologize for that and any hurt it caused you.

I regularly work with a range of dyslexic people and I have also come across a good number who claim to be dyslexic out of sheer laziness and/or attention-seeking. The latter make my blood boil, wasting resources so badly needed by those who do struggle. So i guess I'm more cynical than I should be.

Regarding the pot, kettle, black. You are name-calling, which is a bullying behaviour. but I'm just not going to argue the toss any further.

Thank you.
I have never asked for any extra help in the form of special treatment. I paid for my own tutors in school in the subjects that I needed the extra help in and just put the extra time in.
We all have our talents and things that we need to work harder with, this is how I have always viewed my dyslexia and my physical pain.

I have never instigated any of the personal attacks, only retaliated, though I should just ignore them, I agree with you on that point.

So you don't think it's a personal attack, when you call someone who disagrees with you a "moron?"

Hmmmmm... is calling a name an attack or just an insult?
Good question, I guess it depends on the "offended" party takes it and how sensitive they are.
I would not feel attacked, insulted perhaps... if I cared about the person.

I don't think calling someone a moron just because they either don't understand or don't agree is conducive to good discussion rkz, and that's what you say you want here.

but you don't care, right?

Yes, it is an attack. perhaps you wouldn''t view it as an attack if you were the recipient. So you feel it'sa OK to do it? Now extrapolate that, and apply to other dwellars.

I apologize for calling you a name if I did.

It's more than I will ever get, and no I do not care any more, how could I and stay, especially after the kinds of things said to me today... though I do mean it.

Maybe people are just trying to explain to you why they react the way they do? What's ok for oneself is not always ok with others, hence the conflict over stupid things.

I clearly explained exactly what happens... people take my disagreeing with them personally, then they attack me then when I respond, for reasons I can't figure out, other's react as if I started it.
That is aside from the stalkers.

well I think I"m generally pretty reasonable with you but you still piss me off more than most other posters mate.

Maybe that's my problem, but it seems like others feel the same way. Maybe there's something in that, and maybe there's not. I can only say how I feel sometimes.

I mean this with all due respect I hope you realize.

yeah, well....there haven't been many clues to go by there, hey? hmm...I wonder why people react the way they do......maybe if there was someone with a really really high IQ to help us figure it out.....or if someone could read? hmmm..oh well. guess you should just keep on deluding yourself that people are just stalking you and being mean to you for no reason. yeah.. that'd be best.
