Cicero is right on it here. Witness this quote (from http://christiangays.com/humour/hurricanes.shtml , but let me add I'm not Christian and I'm not gay either.)

Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition, recently warned Orlando, Florida, that it was courting natural disaster by allowing gay pride flags to be flown along its streets. "A condition like this will bring about ... earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor ... "

But the article then does a brilliant demolition job on this homophobic delusion. They note a negative correlation between per capita density of gay groups and the occurrence of tornadoes, and humourously infer:

that means that a high concentration of gay organizations actually protects against tornadoes

But they also check the correlation between tornadoes and religious groups. Jews, Catholics, and Lutherans are off the hook, and even Methodists get off lightly, but it seems...

But Baptists and Others (Other Protestants, ED.) share the prize: both groups show a definite correlation with tornado frequency (r = .68, p = .0001). This means that Texas could cut its average of 139 tornadoes per year in half by sending a few hundred thousand Baptists elsewhere...

Yes, correlation does not prove causation. This is humour. But next time someone blames tolerance of gays for natural disasters, hit them where it hurts ... right in the statistics...
