I've never tried the tea. I usually try to be sure to eat more calcium rich foods 2-3 days ahead of onset and it seems to work consistently as far as physical symptoms. For persistent bitchiness, I like to eat a little dark chocolate, take extra- hot showers and get extra sleep.
The myth is that all women have it -- IIRC it's actually around 40%, with fewer suffering serious symptoms. Unfortunately it is frequently treated as "just how women are" rather than an actual condition that may be treatable with medication (antidepressants have worked in some studies).
