My Dad would really laugh at the idea that I had told an outrageous lie which involved him and it had been taken seriously.
But then if I admitted snorting anything he'd come back and haunt me, so I'd probably best leave that one alone. He once told a man he worked with that his middle names were Anything Except William because his father was drunk when he registered the birth and just thrust a piece of paper at the clerk. Because the man swallowed it without comment, Dads was too embarrassed to bring it up again. I often wonder if someone will relate it back to me one day as something that really happened.

I've a nephew named William but we tell him his FULL name is Trespassers Will. A little Pooh humor. ![]()
