It's a DESKTOP. I can't really, lock it up. I can turn it off? I can password protect my user names, that's it. And for now I'll just overlook it since it's only the first instance.

DESKTOP implies Windows? Try this:

Start -- Control Panel -- User Accounts -- Advanced -- Secure Logon. That brings you to here: Check the little box and you prevent ALL access to the computer without a login name and password. You should physically lock your computer too. I love this one.
