Geminid Meteor shower

Anyone going out tonight to watch this?

I'm without a tripod for my camera but I'm still going to give it a shot. If I get anything decent I'll share.
Aptr. set to 2.8, focus infinity, shutter 60 seconds.. wish my camera let it go longer but oh well. Just waiting for the show to start and the clouds to back off.

Oh for goodness sake.. my camera won't use my memory card. Is there a lifespan on SD flash memory cards that anyone knows of? It just keeps telling me "Card error, format needed".
My only other card died two weeks ago.. what timing this friggin is

Just reformat it...I am, in fact, screwing with this very same thing right now trying to make an mp3 player work right.

Thats the thing I have reformatted it. I've tried in the camera, and I've tried on the computer using the card reader and window's formatting.. wtf. It says it has formatted successfully and all is fine and dandy. I load the card back into the camera, it starts up okay and I take a picture, go to playback mode to view it and I get the error message.
And just fyi its a regular SanDisk 1gb sd card.. not some junk offbrand or something

Fog all night, fog all day along the river, with very little air traffic.....fog again tonight. Might as well be London.

I do like the fog, except during meteor showers...and when I'm supposed to fly next week.

I was woundering about the life of flash cards in digi cams ,
is it beter to format , ( just how many times CAN you format a card befor it fails )
or cut and paste,
or copy and paste , ( from the card , run it full and then format ??)

I Have noticed that older cards produce slightly fuzzer pics , new cards however produce nice SHARP pics .

Any body have any experence with this ????
