The proper steak roll is longer (a little over twice as long, about 12 inches) and denser than a hot dog roll. A hot dog roll would disintigrate within seconds of being touched by the juicy goodness of the steak meat. The best steak roll is made by a company called Amoroso's.

Almost as strangely named as chicken steak.

In the fruitless quest for a "healthier" cheesesteak, most restaurants now have a version involving chicken. In some cases this is finely minced chicken that attempts to mimic the texture of a true cheesesteak, others give you big chunks of chicken meat. A particularly favored variety is the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, which is made with wing sauce and bleu cheese dressing is provided for either slathering or dipping.
