I am a democrat. My views from experience.

My little rants I usually keep inside.

A cashier newly hired responded to me in spanish. Then asked in english if I spoke spanish. I simply said no. He asked "why" I said "because I don't have to" and continued on my business. ( He was being a jerk)

Two middle eastern guys looking at the monday paper. The towers all ablaze. I made eye contact and said hello. Something other than hostility was there. Some kind of wanting to reach for a middle ground. To make amends. I didn't know if I wanted to appologize for that photo. Conflicting emotions. I didn't want anyone gloating for that act nor did I want to be a part of photo sensationalizm.

Driving in for gasoline. A stationed owned by Middle eastern indians. They have a photo of thier son hanging. He is a marine. They tell me thank you so much for comming in in such a way that spoke volumes. I said it was my pleasure. I walked out wondering how much hate comes their way because of the ignorance of people. Their hurt running double because they have a son serving now.

I don't like my credit card information outsourced to another country though.

It's okay to stay a registered democrat after you discover that little separates you from the conservatives, if it makes you feel better.

Your guilt over the arabic-looking guys looking at pics of 9/11 is a clear liberal trait though. You don't need to feel guilty over something you didn't do, didn't cause, and neither did they.

When there is another political party with enough clout to defeat the 'in house' republicans then I'll change otherwise it's a waisted effort. One person changing my affiliation won't change a thing. If democrats would come together in like mindedness there could be a radical change. I think the many is greater than the few in our American politics anyway.

I don't think alternating emotions of shame and protectiveness is guilt. I am ashamed of our government. I am ashamed of our sentationalistic media. Oh but I know they had a right to touch that photo. The same right they had to touch the model on the cover of the womans magazine. I know they weren't to blame. I put the blame on our government.
