If today isn't CapnHowdy's birthday, it should be.

Today, for the first time, I heard a Hispanic psychic say something that made sense. She made the very obvious statement that the world's calendar has been changed so many times that it would require a computer to know if the date 6/6/6 had actually arrived. (This was significant to me because Hispanic psychics are not known for making rational statements about anything and they talk about flying saucers (OVNIs) too much ) So for all those doomsayers and religious hysterics, go back and check the JULIAN calendar, which was in effect at the time Revelations was written. Or maybe it was written by a Jew, in which case you are going to have to figure out how to get the "sign of the Beast" from their numbering system.

Maybe the devil had a hand in "correcting" the calendar multiple times to make certain this day aligned itself with the pinnacle of his power. He "helped" re-align the with the stars and the timeline that matched the birthing of the BEAST!

Well, then as Maggie said, it still happened on a different date. Not only has Western civilization dropped entire blocks of days out of the calendar on several occasions, but the number of months and the number of days in a month have been rearranged according to the ego of whoever was in power at the time. Napoleon even started the entire calendar over from scratch, and there were many who thought HE was the antichrist anyway. If anybody had a calendar in effect which was both totally accurate at the time of the writing of Revelations and still exists unchanged, it was/is the Maya of Mezo-America. Unfortunately, however, they were not counting down for the Second Comming of the Christians' savior. (Unless you happen to be Mormon and intend to squash the Maya civilization and its accomplishments into your own mold and claim that they, too, witnessed the resurected Jesus and by rejecting him doomed themselves to extinction in the New World of the Hebrews.)

Is it too late for me to say that I think the world is going to end on 6-6-06?
