My bet is that after a short while they'll catch the mayor banging the 14 y.o. babysitter when he's not busy wifeswapping with the guy who runs the hardware store.

The DA will have a frickin huge hydroponic/H.I.D. lighted, climate controlled, reefer farm in his basement, and the deacon/scoutmaster will be up to the typical shenanigans.

The ones who create these "sanctuaries" are typically only trying to hide from themselves. But how long will the hidden self stay hidden?

So will women be forbidden to wear shorts or halter tops or - goddess forbid - bikinni's? Will there be warning signs posted at the edge of town? "She who wears a plunging neckline, abandon all hope should you enter here"?

Inglis, Florida, already did something similar. The mayor banished satan from the town and signs at the edges of town were posted as a warning for him to stay out.

The idea of Ave Maria sounds half-assed. If Monaghan was really serious about having a "sin-free" community, he would do it like the Amish. Domino's Florida Dutch Pretzels for everyone!

And the hysterical outcome of all of this? Its all cool...'cause they've accepted Jesus as their Personal Savior (tm), and they'll be forgiven, no matter what sort of irresponsible, antisocial, murderous, child molesting crimes they've committed.

There is a long history of these sorts of voluntary communities in the good ole USA. I'm all for this sort of thing vs going to the state house and banning this that and the other... Of course it will go down in flames but you and I won't get burned.
