Meanwhile, in California, 2 grrls kick azz
And there's the pair of teenagers rousted out of a pair of cars at a lovers' lane near Lancaster CA. Their kidnapper compounded his mischief by stealing the vehicle one of the victims was in, punting her boyfriend out the door at gunpoint and taking off with the girls. He kept them bound and raped them both, and traveled north. Unfortunately for his continued good health, the bandit was running on fumes and adrenalin, and one of his captives knew where a bowie knife was stashed in the vehicle, an SUV. When their kidnapper conked pretty much out from exhaustion, the girls made their move. One got the knife, the other seized a whiskey bottle. They hit him between the eyes with the whiskey bottle and slashed his neck with the knife.
However, being young and untrained at this sort of thing, their attack was amateurish and the kidnapper was able to stagger out of the vehicle, at which point the knife girl tried throwing the knife at him -- while he still had control of the gun he'd used to take them captive in the first place. He was thus able to regain control of the situation, for a few minutes, as far as he could control it because the pursuing police units were coming over the hill after him. Things happened very quickly; the girls bailed and ran, and shots were fired. One dead kidnapper, who had been on a spree of robbery, rape, assault and general kamikaze-mode.
That these girls fought back will aid them greatly in recovering from their traumas, if any. It's being unable to repel such assault that gives people nightmares and stress disorders. Had their fighting back been more skilled and determined, they would not have been outgeneraled by their kidnapper. They neglected to render his weapons useless -- bleeding out from a slashed carotid would definitely do that. Moving to deny him his gun would have been another good move, and this was one they did not make. Trying to convert a hand weapon into a distance weapon was just a bad move all around -- you disarm yourself that way.
