How'd you keep your kid in their big bed?

Hmmm... the Griff Youts are on futons in a loft so there's no where to go unless they work their way around to the ship's ladder. They clunked out of regular beds in the past but got the point after a couple spills. I guess I can't help except that if they have a soft landing zone maybe they'll learn without being locked in bed. [shrug]

The bed rails we had came with the beds and were solid wood boards. I can't see any strangulation hazard there.

My youngest girl move around a lot in her sleep. IIRC, she was still falling out of bed from time to time when she was ~9. We would hear a loud THUMP, then hear her grumbling as she got back in bed.
