				Signature suggestion

UT, just wondering if it would be feasable to allow small pics to be in your signature. Example being http://www.thereallybigone.com/horoscope/fire.jpg which i would love to have. I know you probably want to avoid giant avatars that will eat up bandwidth, etc. I'm just asking to allow small pics, say no bigger than say 150 x 120?

If images are let in the sigs, there will be no (technical) way to limit the size of them. I'm quite strongly against it, for all the same reasons as avatars, plus in this case an img could be hosted outside the Cellar and break all sorts of things in threads. No now that I think about it, it's a bad idea all around. |

I am on several boards that use avatars, and also allow pictures in .sigs ... it's like Hell. Only worse. Especially since at least 3/4 of them are animated, with overly quick cycle rates. And too bright colors. Take a look, if you dare.

Well yes you could do something like that, but it would involve a vBulletin "hack", which means the whole thing is more difficult to maintain at that point because each change has to be reintegrated into new versions of the software.

One board I post to allows images in the sig line, and it is incredibly annoying. Some people have so many images that a one word reply from them takes up the entire screen. No, thanks. |

Although they really help, smileys alone don't make a poster annoying.

Wolf is the love child of Dorothy Parker and Oscar Wilde. Remember, in the realm of the absolute all time is occuring simultaneously. It's only the realm of the relative that there is differentiation...
