IOTD is great because it sometimes draws the subject of the IOTD into the cellar.
example: a few months back i received a PM from a gentlemen in response to a smartass comment i made in the Supervaluable headstone for a cat thread. it turns out the guy who PM'd me was the guy in the article. UT and i both had PM's and concluded that it really is the guy. i know there have been other instances, but i can't think of any right now. CRS.
