I'll agree that this may not be zealotry, but I've always hated the use of the word inhuman in cases like this. The word superhuman comes to mind. Only a human could push the bounds of an idea so far.

True. But only a human can forsake his humanity.

I've sort of come to the conclusion that the essential spark that makes a human a person is so vital that when you give it up you descend past the point of being an animal. It's as if a person is incomplete without the human psyche to go with the human machine.

I guess inhuman would have to be defined as behavior outside the boundaries that people will accept from a person in a fit of rage. Simply because there is nothing you can do to someone that hasn’t been done to someone, sometime, somewhere.

I think any group that figures people are an expendable resource is inhuman. Hmmm...would that include every army?

I don't think so, I think that there is a big difference between balancing the loss of the lives of your men vs the other sides losses as opposed to simply causing as much loss of life as possible because it's get you a seat in heaven.

These acts are carried out in the name of wrestling eventual total control over an entire nation, nay, an entire region, of people. Like any enterprising theocracy, *nothing* is too extreme in the name of the ultimate goal...namely, having the sheep pacified and productive so that you can lay back and enjoy the fruits of their labors.

Religion is an excuse, not a reason.

Sometimes stating the obvious is as insightful as I get.

Does a seat in the White House count?
