restringing heater coil

That worked for me too, the first time, then it failed again. My guess is that same power was coursing through even less resistance and thereby stressing the next weakest section even more, leading to the next break...

Eventually, I couldn't stretch the coils any further and I was tired of faking the crimp-on connectors. They were melting. This was a bad thing ready to happen.

The good news is a new element (in it's own little metal box like a catalytic converter) was less than 50 bucks. No more repairs.
