American Indians felt the same way. They were willing to share but "we" wanted it all. Mexicans feel that way about Texas. Interesting... it looks almost as if they are taking it back 3-4 births more than Anglos are willing to keep it. But I did get your point and it has validity.
OK then....."we" do have it all. That's the native Americans, the Mexicans, the Texans, the Anglos, the everybody.
Even Me.
Food for thought: How long can "it all" last if everyone who tips his dadgum hat wants "his share of the American Dream"? It slowly becomes the divided division of what is shared to be divided........ Nobody chose their cultural heritage, faith, nationality, race, etc.
It is a TRUE American who knows his country is the ultimate optimum.
I'll stay here & love what "we've" earned. I've earned what "we" love. I have yet to see another country spend millions of bucks to keep "us" out of their yard. Maybe we are happy to just stay at home. Home sweet home. I, along with scores of my fellow countrymen, love to entertain guests.
Good guests eventually LEAVE & GO BACK HOME. America can't continue to support all other countries' "we're not happy here people". Of course, if they insist- we will continue to fight and die for what "we" believe in. In behalf of most of this Country, I say: "we" love you! Come see us! THEN LEAVE!
Thanks for the validity,MBJ........
I certainly appreciate it. Good Day...................................................

The multitudes of poor Irish immigrants who came flooding across the Atlantic Ocean during the potato famine were not doing so because they wanted to be Americans, they did so because, as you put it, they wanted...
You’re confusing why they wanted to leave there with why they wanted to come here. Some went to other parts of the world, also. The majority of the ones that came here wanted to become Americans. They gravitated to neighborhoods where their own kind had congregated but moved out to better digs as soon as they could.
Try this;
Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.
Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.
Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
Procreate abundantly.
Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.
Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.
Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.
Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
Be sure and report back to us about your experience.

And yet another novel way to try to sneak into the country...that didn't work either.

Quote:
It's not known whether Enrique Aquilar Canchola, 42, thought his disguise would work, but it definitely didn't. The Mexican national tried to cross the Mexico-U.S. border into San Ysidro, Calif., disguised as a car seat. A U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service inspector discovered the unusual camouflage when he checked the back of a van when it tried to sneak Canchola over the border. (London Times)

This is True rocks.

We could probably do with a few of his stories as well as the ones from The Stella Awards as well.
