froody:

I often take three exposures (or more) of the same subject... one at what I think looks right thru the viewfinder, then another one a stop lower, then the third a stop higher.

Actually I end up taking a lot more than that sometimes... I forget the camera is on manual focus (I use a digital) and the viewfinder doesn't always show when something is in/out of focus... so I take the first 3 pics, then notice that I forgot to focus--and have to do 3 more after I get the right focus.

Since I use a digicam, I can take as many pics as I like and discard what doesn't turn out. It's a lot more enjoyable that way... in the past with my 35mm cams, I simply didn't feel that I could afford to shoot as much as I wanted to. I love digital for that reason alone!
