Pressure Cooker
A buddy of mine is looking for a pressure cooker that he can fry in.
I don't know a damn thing about such and I figured here was the place to look considering the gatronomic delights that float around here. Anybody able to help?

Make sure he buys a heavy cooker. Heavy cookers are not the cheap ones. This is one kitchen gadget you don't skimp on.
I see no reason why you couldn't fry in a nice heavy pressure cooker. Just don't use the lid when frying. From what I understand, pressure cooking is exclusively the realm of water-based liquids. And as Alton Brown says about pressure cookers: read the manual. Those things can be dangerous if not handled properly. |

i have no personal experience beyond the "my coworker's best friend's mom had 8 fingers, 2 toes, 1 eye and a breast blown off because she didn't use the cooker the right way" kind of stories. my wife talks about getting one quite a bit, but we haven't pursued it.
if you do get one, let us know how it works out.
