I was just wondering what the acreage under production is/was.

There's half a world (well, almost) between here and Minnesota but it occurred to me that, like some farmers in the UK, Mr Elbert might also have been a contractor.

Whatever the situation, that's rather a lot of hardware!

Good thinking, that's quite possible. That spurred me to find he farm, at least I think I did. I had envisioned the rolling farms I saw in Kansas, Iowa and the Dakotas that stretch for miles. That would make the amount of equipment sound reasonable. What I found is much smaller so you may be right.
The squares are about 5,000 feet.
