SonofV told me yesterday that he "wished I'd learned this earlier" when struggling through his trials.

I'm proud that he said this in the first person, and not putting the blame on others.

That's more mature than a lot of what I hear from "grown-ups" in my daily life.

My son earned Eagle Scout rank and there was a big ceremony for him over the weekend. Grandparents and his sister came into town and the ceremony was very nice. I was grinning like a fool the entire time.

It was good to have the family together.

He was removing invasive plants in a local park and planting a bunch of native trees. And taking care of them, which was made much easier by historic rain all summer.
