Buckethead's style is probably closest to what one would describe as avantgarde electric guitar, a mixture of speed metal, jazz and jungle (d'n'b, maybe part of the inspiration for GnR's d'b'-heavy new approach?).
Since you're asking for tracks rather than albums, I'd assume you want to sample before buying. Readily available tracks there include "Nun Chuka Kata", and "Sanctum", which are from opposite ends of Buckethead's performance spectrum. Sometimes he performs very slow, melodic, almost childishly naive tracks, such as "For Mom". His earlier tracks seem almost Iron Maiden- and Black Sabbath-inspired, listen in to "Welcome to Bucketheadland", for instance. One can argue that Randy Rhodes has finally found a worthy successor, or that Satriani and Vai have collided and formed a newer, less egocentric bastard offspring. The musical press certainly hasn't been less than hyperbolic in the past. If you want to buy an album, check out "Monsters and Robots"; if you just want to download a track, have a look for "Nun Chuka Kata" (which gets going sometime after the 2:30min mark..) or the very early "Welcome to Bucketheadland". Shades of Satriani can be heard on "Binge and Grab" (instrumental), when the insanity starts about 3:20min into the track. More virtuoso speed tapping is on "Praxis". X. Have they played any shows yet? I've heard more than just this one cancellation.

Sure hate to be a "thread" nazi but,
Audio research allowed me the absolute freedom to confirm that I alone am "buckethead". There WERE two tape recorders in motion before drums and bass were ever added and packaged though
![]() Same old vocals, bold new package? I can only hope as I was forced, practically at gun point to produce the homework for this baby that stands so very alone in front of you. : )

Probably so, as Fozzy is to Ozzy. I hope the crowd doesn't think I am taking too much pride in my work, it's just so exciting for me to remember things I forgot about while moving on to the next act/production. If not Oysterhead I definately sang for blue oyster cult, as well as every group on the heavy metal soundtrack.
Not to be an asshole or to rock the boat at all but it's true. ![]()

Looks like GnR is getting more press for not playing than they would for playing.

I don't doubt you're being crazy. I've been reading your posts.
![]() However, I think you may also be right about the CD thing. One of my coworkers attended the riot ... his description was quite entertaining. I still don't get the whole Buckethead thing, though. Guess I'm just too far out of the demographic or something.
