Radios, yeah, ok. But, helicopters? Only just. The Eurocopter X3* is the world's fastest chopper at 293mph. The second fastest? The Chinook. It'd get left behind pretty quick at 196mph, though, if it weren't for curves.
According to this anyway. *The X3 is a compound helicopter, and has forward facing props to help with thrust.

Sikorsky is reviving one that can fly closer to 400 MPH. First version vibrated destructively. Modifications are to quash vibrations.
Today's engines are based in what Indy engines were doing about 1948. We know what Indy engines are doing today. How many years before that technology will be standard in cars? |
