No, no they're not. Unless by sensitive you mean able to be quickly outraged after an event rather than alert to prevent them? But they're hyper-dramatic once they've happened.

Sadly, even airport security still leaves a lot to be desired, never mind public awareness (which means watching for suspicious things in large crowds, not knowing exactly what you were doing the moment it happened and posting on facebook about how much you are praying....) .

Yes, there are now sniffer machines and x-ray machines and metal detectors and guards with even more guns and scary dogs at the airports.... and you can't wear shoes or take knitting needles on a plane.......... but two weeks ago at Metro Detroit there were STILL piles of unattended bags everywhere.

I grew up undwr the threat of IRA attacks and weekly bomb scare and let me tell you the American public is NOT "hyper-sensitive"

And the immediate assumption is foreign terrorism? Who recently shot up a primary schoool, a movie theater, a place of worship......? And who bombed Oklahoma City?
