I don't "gossip"; I share relevant and useful personal information with the goal of maintaining and strengthening social networks and interpersonal relationships.
I certainly can and do keep secrets. For once, I am going to (pre-emptively) side with Merc's distrust of surveys. How can you do a survey that asks people whether and how often they lie?
