Starting a thread is like launching a balloon or a paper boat... once you release it you have no control where it's going, no matter how much you want to. If you try, you'll probably kill it.
You can describe the guidelines you would like it to follow, where you hope it will go, but you can't make demands, and expect to be taken seriously. What are you gonna do about it... log off? Thread, string, rope, chain.... you can pull it, but you can't push it.
