But you're right, for a bill that relatively low, this is clearly a righteous stand she's making, and not about the money. I'd stay as far away from the whole thing as I could.

Nice summary clodfobble. It seems to be my take on it anyway.
I am laying low but the resentment is still there, even as far as me 'seemingly' taking sides, which I was careful not to over emphasize my opinion. I never realized the resentment would bloom into animosity.
