There have been a couple of threads about specific incidents, so I am setting this one up as a clearinghouse for political figures caught in sexually embarrassing situations, like this one.

Florida state Rep. Bob Allen faces charges of solicitation for prostitution after he was arrested in a Titusville city park that had been under surveillance, police said.
He allegedly offered an undercover police officer $20 for the unspecified act. His attorney, Philip Lupo of Titusville, said the charge was a second-degree misdemeanor.
Allen told CNN affiliate WFTV the incident was "a very big misunderstanding."
"This is a very gross mistake, a very big mistake," he said, adding that this is what the judicial system is for.
Allen said he helped build the park, and was there looking around.

BTW, I was shocked when I heard he offered (her?) $20. I thought that even the sex industry was affected by inflation.

And what is it with Republicans and sex scandals? In the 70's it was sort of bipartisan, but except for Clinton, which was almost 7 years ago, it seems every fetish, arrest, and announcement of orientation has been associated with Republicans.

Are Democrats better at morality, or just better at having inappropriate sex discreetly?

I was more than 1/2 expecting this incident to have happened at night and was gonna bust on his excuse of "just looking around."

Then l found:
"Police said they arrested Allen, 48, about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Park after he allegedly offered to perform oral sex on an undercover officer and to pay the officer $20 for the
opportunity. He faces one charge of solicitation of prostitution, a second-degree misdemeanor, and was released from Brevard County jail Wednesday night after posting $500 bond."

Opportunity???? WTF????
