Actually, it took less than 2 minutes. Me and wifee were sitting down and noticed the squirrily snail climbing up a vertical reed leading to the fountain. Floored (patioed?) were we, with its speed and obviously quirky path around (actually over) the statue... It sped (relatively speaking) off into the backyard and we've get to see it again.

Thank you. Actually I've got more pix of the incident; these were the better ones. In digital photography quantity can lead to quality.

I was just saying to the wife last night, "You know, you never see any good photo series of snails in action online anymore."

That is a big-ass snail...what kind is it, and from what part of our Wide Wide World of Sports?

Nice pics, BTW. And all joking aside, I think it rocks that we get to share stuff like this here on The Cellar.

Someday there'll be a Quality Movies section and you'll be posting a 2 minute movie file...

I'm not sure that's a good idea, UT. Nothing but Net might get you arrested.

Don't know what kind of snail it is... My backyard oasis tends to bring in all sorts of animals. On an extreme note, my relatives in New Orleans just had their extensive stock of coi depleted by cranes. The racoon problem they were dealing with didn't scare the cranes away.

My next picture will be fleas Doin' it. Oh Krikey..

Hey...birds do it. Bees do it. *Even educated fleas do it*.
