Saw another news story about another teen...

beaten up for being SUSPECTED of being gay. It happened on a school bus.

I have one simple request. If you bully and/or beat up ANYONE for being gay, a different race or any other stupid reason, PLEASE DIE IN A FIRE!. THE WORLD DOES NOT WANT YOU HERE.

The subject of being gay came up with my mom today. She still thought AIDS is a gay disease. I was amazed. I had to explain that the only reason it was prevalent in the gay community while she was growing up (she knew 2 gay guys who died of AIDS) was just due to lack on knowledge about the disease and that homosexuals did not think they needed to use protection since they couldn't get pregnant. Things have changed due to STD education/research.
Oh, she also thinks gayness is caused by child molestation. I tried, but couldn't really convince her otherwise of that.

I have a feeling that because the general public's only contact with queers they knew about, (because the closet was the only safe place), was with the flaming, and the creepy. With more exposure, finding "normal" people they've known and worked with for years are queer, has changed a lot of minds.

People continue to suck. There is a tribal need to set these random boundaries so they can have bad guys and good guys. Let's take the Golden Rule out for a spin and see if we can make it work...

I have been set on fire before; it hurts a lot but more so once it is put out.
