Wentworth!

I just finished the second and current season of this women's prison story from Australia. Apparently, it's based on an older Australian soap opera called Prisoners.

I read about half of Orange is the New Black. I watched even fewer episodes. To me it was like "look how cute I am in prison." It's a different concept, I get that. I think it's supposed to be funny and yet peppered with gritty realism. It just didn't do that for me.

But Wentworth was mesmerizing. The acting, the storylines, the character development...truly exceptional.

Give it a go, as they say. I found it fascinating. Like the Oz of women's correctional institutions in Australia (and that's a huge compliment, because Oz was an amazing show.)

Prisoner Cell Block H, I thought was the full title. I loved that. So I didn't find Wentworth a patch on it, but that's just because I'm an old curmudgeoness

Oooh, watched some of that. If I had access to it when it was running, I'm sure I would have loved it.

I see the characters are a bit changed around, as to their roles in the series. It's not a remake, it's a 're-imagining' as the articles I've read say.

But yeah, I really liked Wentworth. To me, it just kept getting better and better...

One of my best buds from HS works on Orange. I won't say in what capacity but she's up there.
