There's evidence that the deck was stacked against Bernie the last time around. The powers that be did block him.

This time, I haven't seen any evidence of that. And the "powers that be" are the voters.

24 hours before Super Tuesday, Biden was a career primary loser who had been losing at Presidential campaigns since 1988. Then, in a perfectly coordinated, last-ditch effort, everybody dropped out and endorsed Biden*, impossibly reviving his dead campaign. That wasn't "voters"

Biden was going to be the candidate this time, come hell or high water.

*timing it just right in the news cycle!

One of Pete Buttigieg's staff members tweeted, then hastily deleted, the allegation that first the DNC asked Pete to drop out and endorse Biden, and when he said no, the DNC yanked all his funding to force him to.

it's the second one.

Shoulda said that from the start: woulda saved time.

#

the "powers that be" are the voters

Sometimes, more on the local, regional, and state levels than the national one.

#

Biden was going to be the candidate this time, come hell or high water.

Which is nonsensical if, as you say, the majority favored or favor socialism. Why would the party of the people cast away their chance to oust my employee? Sure as shit: Smokin' Joe ain't gonna do that.

Bein' fair: while I don't think Bernie or socialism were or are favored, Bernie represented, still represents, a threat to the party's old guard, the folks who'll play footsie with commies, er, socialists but themselves aren't socialists and who don't want socialists to get real power.

Everybody (at least the intelligent ones) love the many problems that Bernie wants to solve. It all quickly falls apart as soon as he says how he will do it. His objectives were admirable. His solutions looked so much like The Don's.

Once it was clear that many voters were finally seeing through to the details, then much of Bernie's support vaporized.

I so remember those Sander's supporters - so ill informed as to repeatedly insist that the Federal Reserve was a private corporation. They even failed to learn from (and denied the solution to
) a near great Depression created by George Jr in 2007. Our asses were saved by the Fed and other properly implemented solutions such as Tarp.

Meanwhile, what inspired a Tea Party? More 'just as ill informed' who hated Tarp using similar over hyped and communist inspired hate. Similar communist regurgitation that Henry Quirk uses.

Notice what was repeatedly stated. All was best ignored until after Iowa. That is when a vacuum behind Bernie's proposals became obvious.

Anything congress addresses is going to end up worse because their place at the trough depends on pleasing their owners, not us.

Jeez, guy, after all this time, it's okay to just call me Henry. You don't have to be so friggin' formal.

henry quirk. Lower case. Not so formal.

At a black tie dinner, we would say Reverend Henry Quirk. Or Senator Henry Quirk. Or Sir Henry Quirk. Or Ayatollah Henry Quirk. Or Grand Puba Henry Quirk.

Apparently we are not that formal.

Apparently there's a good foot, foot & a half, between my observation and the top of your head.

Being over 12 feet below means you cannot have observation. Unless your title in that black tie dinner was Mister Superman. Apparently not.

So you are only observing what you want to see.

"a good foot, foot & a half" vs "12 feet"

Look, henry: this is a guy who will tell you the TEA Party was Communist.

He gives bloviation lessons to socialist newsmen.

That's my fault, I think. Some time back I called him a commie and he latched on to it like a tick on a dog. Nowadays, if it doesn't fit into his idea of [i]moderate/i] then it's communist.

He gives bloviation lessons to socialist newsmen.

Livin' in a state of perpetual hysteria makes a man gibberish-prone.
