Porto, Portugal - any tips?

So, I'm playing a festival in Porto, Portugal in July. I'll have about 2 days of downtime in the city on the front end of the gig.

Anybody familiar with the city? Any recommendations for restaurants, clubs, things to do and see that are "don't miss" for the city? I've never been to the city before.

Vintage Porto throws a crust and needs decanting.

That's all I got.

It's a city - they're all exactly the same.

I have not been to Porto, but I remember my grandparents talking about the architecture a lot.

Smooth - I know it's not the same as personal advice, but check TripAdvisor.com.
It's bang up to date and really helped me when I went to Amsterdam. It also got me excellent B&B choices in Cardiff and Glasgow - Mum is witness to the former and Dana & Limey to the latter.

It covers places to stay, places of interest, clubs, food etc - anything anyone has bothered to rate.

See if you can get a stop over in the Azores. The most awesome place I've ever been. Go to the smaller islands, rent a car and go inland to the towns on the tops of the mountains. You will never want to leave.

Awe Some.

Have you tried posting on the Thorn Tree section of Lonely Planet? Just had a look at the Portugal section and there are a couple of threads there about Porto.
